Job summary

Indiana University Health seeks a compassionate Patient Care Technician (PCA) to support bedside care. Responsibilities include assisting with meals, mobility, baths, and linen changes, while maintaining safety and comfort for patients.

The role partners with the bedside RN to obtain vital signs, report changes, and follow unit policies. A supportive, fast-paced environment and teamwork are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Requires current Basic Life Support certification through the AHA or attainment at the completion of the IU Health PCA education program.
• Ability to follow unit policies and safety procedures.
• Strong communication and patient-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide drinks, assist with meals, encourage walking, baths, and clean linens.
• Obtain vital signs and report abnormalities to the RN or charge nurse.
• Maintain patient safety using gait belts and alarms; stay within arm's reach.
