Job summary

IU Health is seeking a part-time Day Patient Care Technician (PCA) to provide compassionate bedside assistance. You will help patients with drinks, meals, walking, baths, and linens while supporting the bedside RN with vital signs and safety.

A caring bedside manner and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential. You will follow unit policies, maintain infection control, and use gait belts and alarms to keep patients safe.

Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support certification through the AHA or obtained during PCA education program.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate patient care procedures.
• Ability to read and perform basic math.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide drinks and assist with meals, walking, baths, and linens.
• Obtain vital signs and report abnormalities to RN/charge nurse.
• Maintain patient safety with gait belts and alarms; stay within arm's reach.
• Support bedside RN with clinical assistance and daily tasks.
