Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking a driven Family Service Counselor to serve grieving families by arranging cemetery and pre-need services, and to drive revenue through personalized, compassionate engagement.

You will prospect, present, and close opportunities, build relationships with families and communities, coordinate with funeral directors and location staff, and maintain high professional standards while delivering outstanding service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of college or equivalent education and experience.
• 1-2 years of customer service or sales industry experience preferred.
• Must pass company presentation certification within 30 days of hire and maintain license if required.

Responsibilities

• Lead generation and prospecting a minimum of 1-2 hours daily.
• Obtain referrals from families served by the location.
• Network and build community and civic relationships.
• Explain and present presentations to families served and referred families.
• Develop understanding of each family's needs and offer value solutions.
• Build trust-based relationships to earn referrals and protect families.
• Collaborate with funeral directors and location staff for seamless service.
• Prepare for appointments and follow through on customer problems and requests.
