Job summary

Amazon's Global Engineering Services (GES) North America Design & Construction is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to serve as the owner's representative during the preconstruction phase of facility delivery.

You will independently manage cross-functional industrial preconstruction projects — from site selection and validation through design management, permitting, and contract execution — for new builds, retrofits, expansions, and program initiatives across your assigned region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering required.
• Experience with automated equipment including packaging machinery, sortation and conveyor systems.
• Travel up to 25% of the time.
• 5+ years of experience as an Architect, Engineer, Construction Manager, Development Manager, or Owner's Project Management Representative.
• 5+ years of project management experience from design through implementation and operation.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage cross-functional industrial pre-construction projects from site selection through design, permitting, and contract execution.
• Coordinate with Real Estate, Design Engineering, Entitlements, Construction, Finance, Launch/Startup, architects, engineers, and permitting agencies to secure resources and milestones.
• Lead site selection and validation and development of site plans in compliance with Amazon standards.
• Manage multiple concurrent large industrial projects across locations.
• Perform conceptual estimating and price reviews; negotiate costs with developers and contractors.
• Own budget tracking, schedule management, and cashflow forecasting across projects.
