Job summary

Advocate Health, a major health system in Illinois, seeks a Pre-Certification Specialist for its Ambulatory Care team in Libertyville. This onsite role supports providers, coordinates patient eligibility, and assists with scheduling and billing to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate records.

You will work a Monday–Friday, 8:00–17:00 schedule with no weekends or major holidays, collaborating with clinical staff to maintain timely pre-certifications and high-quality patient interactions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to two years related customer service experience
• Experience handling difficult callers/customers/patients.

Responsibilities

• Contact the pre-certification vendor and provide the facility and patient demographic information.
• Monitor future orders and assure completion of pre-certification process by due date of procedure.
• Orient new associates to pre-certification functions in EPIC and other vendor specific applications
• Execute patient scheduling duties and document within the EPIC/IDX system(s) following provider specifics and scheduling guidelines.
