Butler Machinery is seeking a Service Manager to lead the Power Systems Service Department in Fargo, ND. You will oversee daily operations, coach and develop a high performing team, and drive safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree or equivalent experience and training preferred.
• Strong leadership, detail, and organizational skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours.
• Mechanical experience with our product lines preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience or Service Management Training preferred.
• Clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations of the Power Systems Service Department, ensuring exceptional customer service and efficient workflow management.
• Manage service scheduling, job progress, warranty administration, and customer communication.
• Drive customer satisfaction by proactively resolving concerns and service‑related issues.
• Lead, coach, and develop service department employees, including hiring, performance management, training, and career development.
• Monitor KPIs and implement process improvements to support departmental goals and operational excellence.
• Develop business plans, staffing strategies, and service growth initiatives.
• Review estimates, quotes, work orders, and service documentation to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
• Manage manufacturer goodwill claims and customer dispute resolution while balancing customer and company interests.
• Ensure a safe, organized, and productive work environment by promoting and enforcing company safety standards.
