Job summary

Butler Machinery is seeking a Heavy Equipment Service Manager to oversee the service department, track job progress, resolve customer concerns, and lead the team.

You will manage scheduling, develop business plans, monitor KPIs, ensure safety and quality, interview and hire personnel, and maintain a productive shop environment for a family business with 900 associates across North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana and Nebraska.

Qualifications

• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Computer knowledge and filing/records keeping.
• Strong leadership, detail orientation and organizational skills.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours.
• Mechanical experience with product lines represented is preferred.
• Lead Yourself training preferred for internal candidates.
• Two-year degree or equivalent experience and training preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience or Service Management Training preferred.
• Must possess a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Oversee service department operations including job scheduling and progress.
• Maintain high level of customer satisfaction and resolve warranty issues.
• Develop staffing plans and service promotion strategies.
• Monitor KPIs and adjust business plans as needed.
• Hire, train and develop service personnel; provide coaching.
• Ensure safe, clean and orderly work environment.
