Job summary

Carter Machinery in Manassas, VA is seeking a Sales Engineer to support our Power Systems Outside Sales Team with technically accurate, timely proposals for generator sets, switchgear, fuel systems, and weatherproof enclosures. The role requires a self-starter who can communicate with contractors, consultants, engineers and end-users, travel as needed, and develop competitive bid materials.

Starting compensation is base salary plus commissions with total compensation over $100,000, final amount

Qualifications

• 3+ years' sales and/or projects experience, preferably in Power Generation and/or Marine; Other similar industries will be considered
• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree preferred
• Ability to develop/prepare effective bid materials and presentations

Responsibilities

• Support the Power Systems Outside Sales Team with technically accurate, timely proposals for generator sets, switchgear, fuel systems, and weatherproof enclosures
• Work with the outside sales team to win new business with competitive proposals
• Communicate effectively with contractors, consultants, engineers and end-users; travel as required
