Job summary

Amazon seeks an experienced Power & Hardware Design Engineer to act as a technical authority for power systems within its OneMHS program. You will shape standards, drive hardware development, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver safe, scalable power distribution for global fulfillment centers.

Responsibilities include designing 3-phase power systems, MDBs/PDPs, and arc flash studies, while coordinating with WWDE and suppliers to ensure reliable, standards‑based implementations across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent required.
• 4+ years in power systems design, electrical engineering and/or hardware development for large-scale material handling systems.
• Experience with arc flash calculations per IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical (2010+) and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with NEC/NFPA 70 compliance and electrical codes.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and optimize 3-phase power systems and distribution for material handling.
• Specify MDBs, PDPs, substations; ensure sizing, protection coordination, and code compliance.
• Create single-line diagrams, schematics, and panel schedules; support facility power needs.
• Perform power quality analyses, fault studies, and ensure system reliability and safety.
• Develop and maintain arc flash labeling; coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Lead design reviews and collaborate with operations, facilities, and vendors.
