Job summary
Amazon is seeking an experienced Power & Hardware Design Engineer to lead power distribution and hardware development for its global fulfillment network. You will establish standards, drive innovation, and collaborate with WWDE and cross‑functional teams to ensure safety, reliability, and scalability across material handling systems.
The role emphasizes designing MDBs, PDPs, and substations, performing arc flash analyses, and creating repeatable electrical processes for the OneMHS program.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 4+ years of power systems experience.
- Proven expertise in 3‑phase power design and power distribution.
- Experience with arc flash calculations per IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD Electrical and electrical schematics.
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize 3‑phase power distribution for material handling systems.
- Develop MDBs, PDPs, substations, and panel schedules with proper sizing and protection.
- Perform arc flash analyses and labeling for safety compliance.
- Collaborate with WWDE, Operations Engineering, and cross‑functional teams.
