Job summary

Amazon's Power & Hardware Design Engineer role provides technical leadership for power systems within the OneMHS network, driving standardization and innovation of distribution and hardware for material handling operations with emphasis on safety, scalability, and operations excellence.

Collaborating with WWDE and Operations Engineering, you will shape multi-year roadmaps and deliver MDBs, PDPs, substations, and detailed drawings, while ensuring code compliance and robust performance across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 4+ years in power systems design or hardware development.
• Proficient in arc flash calculations per IEEE 1584 & NFPA 70E.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD and power software.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% for site work.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize 3-phase power systems for material handling.
• Develop MDBs, PDPs, and substations with proper sizing and protection.
• Perform arc flash studies and labeling in accordance with NFPA/IEEE.
• Create A/E drawings and coordinate with mechanical, civil, and structural teams.
• Analyze utilities data and support capacity planning and energy efficiency.
• Lead standards development and documentation for the OneMHS program.
