Job summary

Amazon is seeking an experienced Power & Hardware Design Engineer to lead power distribution, hardware development, and standards for its global material handling network in Nashville and beyond. You will design 3-phase power systems, MDBs, PDPs, and substations, and ensure safe, scalable, and compliant implementations across facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years in power systems design and hardware development.
• Experience with MDBs, PDPs, and electrical substations.
• Proficiency in arc flash calculations per IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E.
• Willingness to travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and optimize 3-phase power systems and distribution for material handling applications.
• Develop single-line diagrams, schematics, and panel schedules.
• Perform power quality analysis, fault current studies, and coordination studies.
• Prepare A/E drawing sets including electrical plans and layouts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize specifications and drive program execution.
