Job summary

RESA Power is seeking a Service Field Tech at multiple levels for our Indianapolis area operations. The role covers testing, maintenance and repair of low to high voltage power equipment, including switchgear, transformers and related systems.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED with at least 1 year in a related field, plus knowledge of NETA/NEC/OSHA/NFPA standards. High mobility and strong safety habits are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED and minimum 1 year of experience in a related field.
• Knowledge of industry standards such as NETA, NEC, OSHA and NFPA.
• Experience with MCCs, Breakers, relay testing, oil testing, infrared scanning, and startup of switchgear up to 500kV class; military training acceptable.
• Able to work safely and adhere to electrical safety procedures.
• Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong computer skills; Windows and Microsoft Office research usage.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and data collection of low to high voltage electrical systems (up to 500kV).
• Test switchgear and circuit breakers; perform maintenance, testing and repair of transformers and related equipment.
• Operate high voltage test equipment; assist in start-up on switchgear; support troubleshooting and repair on controls and transfer schemes.
• Rotate emergency on-call duties and respond to customer emergencies promptly.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory laws and safety procedures.
• Prepare on-site job reports and document test results.
