Job summary

RESA Power, LLC seeks Field Tech/Power Systems Technicians I–IV to service, test, and maintain power transmission equipment across the United States. Duties include HV/LV testing, relay testing, and end-to-end commissioning for relays and switchgear.

Role involves on-site field work, on-call rotation, and adherence to electrical safety standards. Requires NETA/NEC/OSHA knowledge, 1–5 years of related experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED and 1 year of related field experience.
• Knowledge of NETA, NEC, OSHA and NFPA Standards.
• Ability to work safely with electrical equipment and follow procedures.
• Valid driver's license for company vehicle positions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, start-up and data-collect HV/LV electrical systems up to 500kV.
• Install, commission and maintain protective relaying equipment and switchgear.
• Develop and document commissioning/testing procedures for relay systems.
• Perform functional testing of substation control circuits.
• Create relay macros and testing routines for protection configurations.
• Execute relay testing with specialized software and analyze fault conditions.
• Review relay settings to ensure design alignment.
• Perform HV/MV switchgear and circuit breaker testing.
• Test and inspect transformers and related equipment (45 KVA to 130 MVA).
• Maintain and repair breakers (low to medium voltage up to 15 KV).
• Work with SF6 equipment knowledge; perform cable tests and Doble tests.
• Travel as needed; rotate on-call for emergencies; comply with safety laws.
