Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Distribution Engineering Manager to hire, develop, and grow an engineering team while influencing technical strategy and cultivating a high-impact culture. This leadership role partners with the Engineering Director to provide technical oversight and align with department goals.

The position may involve working with offices across multiple states including Idaho; the leader will ensure project demand meets backlog, supervise engineers, and drive QA/QC across design packages

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from ABET-accredited school.
• Minimum 5 years in management within the energy sector.
• Experience in Utility Distribution design projects.
• Complex System Expansion or Government Conversion project experience highly preferred.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accomplishes human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
• Resolves problems and ensures QA/QC standards are followed across projects.
• Provide oversight, technical and procedural direction for engineering processes.
• Develop relationships with senior level engineering managers and executives with clients.
• Coordinate work with engineering offices and cross-train for efficiency.
• Present technical solutions to key customers and respond to questions in real time.
• Direct and/or participate in client meetings and site visits to collect or deliver design data.
• Review and approve employee time sheets and expenses; ensure cost, quality and schedule targets.
• Attend project kickoff meetings to discuss scope, budgets, and safety with project team.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related) from ABET-accredited school

Master's Degree in Engineering Management or MBA (plus)
