Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Distribution Engineering Manager to lead and grow an engineering team, shaping technical strategy and delivering power infrastructure projects. You will supervise engineers, coordinate with the Engineering Director, and ensure QA/QC and project performance.

This role requires 5+ years in energy-sector management, distribution design experience, and PE license preference. You will recruit, mentor, and maintain relationships with senior client stakeholders while driving backlog

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from ABET-accredited school; MBA/EM a plus.
• Minimum 5 years in management within the energy sector.
• Experience in Utility Distribution design projects.
• Complex System Expansion or Government Conversion project experience highly preferred.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise engineering teams to meet project demands while maintaining backlog alignment.
• Provide technical oversight and ensure proper engineering processes are followed across projects.
• Develop and nurture relationships with senior-level clients and internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate work across distributed engineering offices and shared resources.
• Collaborate with Business Development to maintain a consistent pipeline and backlog.
• Present technical solutions to customers and respond to technical questions in real time.
• Forecast engineering requirements, training plans, and resource needs.
• Participate in client meetings and site visits to collect or deliver design data.
• Support quotes/estimating with engineering and project-management input.
• Review and approve timesheets and expense statements; ensure cost, quality, and schedule targets.
• Conduct QA/QC audits on design packages and oversee internal training programs.
• Attend kickoff meetings detailing scope, budgets, schedules, and safety requirements.
