Job summary

Qualus is seeking an Engineer III in our Distribution Department to provide technical leadership for electric utility distribution projects, including system expansion, resiliency, and infrastructure improvement.

You will develop and review designs using WMS, Pole Foreman, Design Manager/Electric Office, and AutoCAD, mentor junior engineers, perform QA/QC, and collaborate with clients to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related).
• 5–8 years in electric utility distribution engineering and design.
• Experience with overhead and underground distribution systems.
• Familiar with utility distribution standards, NESC, and construction practices.
• Proficient with Pole Foreman, Design Manager/Electric Office, WMS, AutoCAD, or similar.
• Strong communication and client-relations skills; able to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for overhead and underground distribution projects.
• Apply client standards, industry practices, and regulatory requirements to design and execution.
• Support project execution by managing assignments and client relationships.
• Develop and oversee design packages using Distribution Design Studio, Pole Foreman, Design Manager, WMS, and AutoCAD.
• Perform QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers.
• Communicate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulators.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes and standards.
• Maintain productivity in a fast-paced environment.
