Job summary

Qualus seeks a Distribution Engineering Manager to lead and grow an engineering team, influence technical strategy, and build a culture of impact. You will oversee engineers across offices, coordinate with the Engineering Director, and manage staffing and project directions.

You will guide design reviews, audits, and QA/QC processes, while developing trusted relationships with clients and senior leadership. The role offers growth and cross-office collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from ABET-accredited school; Master's in Engineering Management or MBA is a plus
• Minimum 5 years in management within the energy sector
• Experience in Utility Distribution design projects
• Complex System Expansion or Government Conversion project experience preferred
• PE license preferred

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select, train, and coach engineering staff; plan and review performance
• Provide technical and procedural direction to ensure proper engineering processes
• Develop relationships with senior clients and executives
• Coordinate work across multiple engineering offices and shared resources
• Work with Business Development to maintain a healthy pipeline
• Present technical solutions to customers and respond to questions in real time
• Forecast engineering requirements and training needs
• Attend project kickoff meetings and review scopes, budgets, and schedules
