Job summary

HDR is seeking a Power Program Manager to lead the planning and execution of major power projects for our clients. You will guide multidisciplinary teams of engineers, construction professionals, and regulatory experts, acting as a trusted advisor to client leadership.

In this role, you will manage scope, schedule, and budget, coordinate with project controls, risk management, and procurement, and prepare dashboards and monthly reports. Travel about 25% is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, Sciences, Business Administration, or closely related field.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or closely related field.
  • Program management experience with large capital programs.
  • Experience with PMIS/CMIS, scheduling, cost control, risk management, and dashboards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver power transmission, distribution, generation, and renewable energy projects.
  • Serve as primary client contact for scope, contract management, and program performance.
  • Advise clients on technical, regulatory, and financial aspects of power programs.
  • Direct and manage HDR staff and sub-consultants across engineering, controls, routing/siting, environment, real estate, communications, and data management.
  • Assess staffing needs and secure resources to meet contract scope and performance.
  • Facilitate risk workshops and develop risk management plans.
  • Develop program management plans, processes, and tools to drive efficiency and transparency.
  • Collaborate with project controls to monitor scope, schedule, and budget against metrics.
  • Prepare monthly program reports and dashboards for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with BD to identify growth prospects and support proposals.
  • Travel on average 25% of the time.
