Job summary

HDR is seeking a Power Market Sector Leader in California to guide client development, project pursuit and cross‑sector initiatives. The role combines strategic marketing with strong client leadership and staff development to advance HDR’s capabilities in power delivery and grid modernization.

The successful candidate will have a deep track record in engineering services, at least 10 years of industry experience, and a California PE licensure or equivalent certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering, planning or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of industry experience.
• Experience developing and managing strategic marketing programs for planning and/or engineering services.
• Experience developing and managing client relationships and program/project pursuits.
• Experience in staff development including career path and professional growth.
• Active involvement with industry associations and visible market sector profile.
• Ability to work cooperatively with regional and area leadership across groups.
• Commitment to HDR values and employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Drive client management and monitor market sector profit and loss.
• Ensure project delivery and participate in QA/QC program.
• Recruit prospective market sector staff and build teams.
• Coordinate staffing and recruiting with area leadership and market sector directors.
• Lead marketing and business development initiatives across sectors.
• Develop relationships with senior leadership and key clients.
• Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across HDR groups.
