Job summary

Amazon is seeking an experienced Power & Hardware Design Engineer to lead power distribution and hardware standards for its OneMHS program. The role focuses on safe, scalable, and reliable power for material handling systems, including tote and parcel conveyance and sortation.

You will drive engineering standards, collaborate cross-functionally, and develop multi-year roadmaps for system evolution while maintaining high quality and safety in project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience in power systems design, electrical engineering, and/or hardware development, preferably for large-scale material handling systems.
• Proficiency in 3-phase power system design, arc flash calculations, and NEC/NFPA 70 code compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and optimize 3-phase power systems and power distribution for material handling applications.
• Develop MDBs, PDPs, and substations with proper sizing, protection coordination, and code compliance.
• Perform load calculations, arc flash studies, and labeling programs across OneMHS.
• Hardware design and development of electrical and electromechanical systems including VFDs and sensors.
• Prepare electrical drawings and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure constructible designs.
