Job summary

Amazon is seeking an experienced Power & Hardware Design Engineer to act as the technical authority for power systems within its OneMHS network. You will drive standardization and innovation of power distribution and hardware for material handling operations.

You will collaborate with WWDE, Operations Engineering, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to deliver robust power solutions, develop standards, and contribute to multi-year roadmaps while ensuring safety, reliability, and scalability.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
Experience with large-scale mechanical and power systems.
Experience solving problems with technology in Energy & Utilities industries.
1+ years of AutoCAD Electrical (2010+) experience or Master's degree in electrical/mechanical engineering.
Experience in hardware design and validation of components/subsystems.
Experience in material handling systems installation, operation and maintenance.
4+ years in power systems design, electrical engineering, and/or hardware development.

Responsibilities

Design, engineer, and optimize 3-phase power systems and distribution for material handling.
Specify MDBs, PDPs, substations with proper sizing and protection coordination.
Create single-line diagrams and panel schedules for facility power needs.
Perform load calculations, arc flash calculations, and labeling programs.
Coordinate with mechanical, structural, civil teams for integrated designs.
Drive project execution from initiation to commissioning and ensure safety/compliance.
