Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Power Generation Sales Representative to manage and grow customer relationships across Richmond, Virginia, supporting emergency and standby power needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical or industrial sales within power generation or related electrical equipment.

You will travel across Western Virginia and West Virginia, develop new business, and collaborate with engineering, project management, service, and sales teams to develop

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in technical sales or industrial sales.
• Experience with power generation, electrical distribution, or electrical equipment.
• Strong business development and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to interpret electrical specifications and assist with equipment estimates/proposals.
• Experience developing both new business and existing customer accounts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage a large geographic sales territory.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and CRM software.
• Ability to travel throughout Western Virginia and West Virginia.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop new customer relationships throughout Western Virginia and West Virginia.
• Maintain and grow existing customer accounts within the assigned territory.
• Conduct in-person customer meetings, site visits, and facility walk-throughs.
• Identify opportunities involving generators, switchgear, controls, and service solutions.
• Build relationships with engineering firms, electrical contractors, end users, and facility managers.
• Partner with engineering teams to develop power generation solutions and equipment proposals.
• Interpret electrical specifications and develop estimates for equipment proposals.
• Support customers in developing emergency and standby power solutions.
• Track opportunities, customer activity, and pipeline through CRM software.
• Develop and execute annual territory growth plans.
• Attend industry events, trade shows, manufacturer training, and professional development programs.
• Conduct project startup and customer follow-up visits as needed.
• Coordinate closely with Project Management and Service teams throughout project execution.
