GAI Consultants, Inc. seeks a technically diversified Civil/Geotechnical Engineering Manager 1 to support the Power Generation Geotechnical Engineering Group in Richmond, VA.

The role focuses on client development, staff leadership, and delivering geotechnical engineering expertise across diverse projects. The candidate will plan, design, and manage geotechnical services for Energy, Institutional, Industrial, and Manufacturing clients, while mentoring staff and advancing company growth.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of civil/geotechnical engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license with multi-state reciprocity.
• B.S. or M.S. in Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop client relationships and pursue opportunities within GAI’s sectors.
• Lead business development pursuits, create statements of qualifications, and define project scopes, schedules, budgets, and fees.
• Provide design, management, and technical direction for geotechnical components on multi-discipline projects.
• Mentor and lead geotechnical staff; manage teams to execute projects successfully.
• Collaborate with accounting to monitor costs and ensure profitability.
