Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Project Manager to lead high voltage and EHV transmission line projects within the Power & Energy Management Team. The role is based in Houston, Austin, or Fort Worth with remote work flexibility and periodic client meetings.

You will manage budgets, schedules, quality, and risk, while developing client relationships and marketing Power Delivery services across the South and Southwest regions. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering or related field within the Power & Energy Market.
• 12+ years of relevant post-education experience in a project management role within the Power Delivery/Utility Industry.
• Minimum of 5 years applicable industry experience working and/or providing engineering services for IOUs, IPPs, Co-Ops, Munis, etc.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience leading engineering and/or construction teams on medium to large electrical utility scale clients for high voltage and/or extra high voltage transmission line type projects.
• Knowledge and experience with PM processes and tools required, including Contract Management, External and Internal Team Meeting Management, Earned Value Management, Change Management, Risk Management, Schedule Management (CPM like Primavera P6), Financial Management.
• Advanced proficiency with project delivery processes in Power Delivery/Utility industry; strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide PM leadership for high voltage and EHV Transmission Line projects, managing budgets, forecasts, margins and KPIs.
• Develop strategies to engage stakeholders at all levels and report on project progress.
• Lead pursuit/initiation activities including Go/No-Go decisions, contract reviews, risk mitigation, and pricing.
• May participate in contract negotiations and client presentations.
• Direct technical reviews and QA/QC per project plans and select qualified staff.
• Provide strategic input to clients and guide multi-disciplinary teams.
• Ensure regular project reporting to clients and management, including risk and scope/budget impacts.
• Facilitate project closeout and lessons-learned with key staff.
