Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms in Flowood, MS seeks a Poultry Processing Supervisor for Retail or Further Processing to oversee production staff and ensure adherence to HACCP, SSOPs, GMPs, USDA and OSHA requirements while meeting productivity and customer specifications.

You will lead line operations, optimize staffing and shift rotations, complete departmental reports, mentor staff, oversee safety and quality, and partner with QA to maintain food safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year in a manufacturing setting; three years in food manufacturing or poultry preferred
• Demonstrated leadership experience including knowledge of timekeeping requirements, policy adherence and conflict resolution
• Knowledge of poultry processing, food safety regulations (OSHA, GMP, HACCP)
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, written and verbal; multilingual abilities preferred
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple projects
• Proficiency in basic computer and math skills
• Self-starter with initiative in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Supervise retail or further processing production lines to meet schedules and budgets
• Deploy and rotate staff to maximize efficiency and ergonomics
• Complete and maintain daily departmental reports and staffing records
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction
• Lead or participate in process improvements and monitor metrics
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to maintain a safe, sanitary workspace following USDA requirements
• Mentor, coach, and train employees; administer performance improvement and disciplinary actions as needed
• Enforce safety initiatives and PPE usage across the department
• Coordinate with other shifts to meet location goals
• Understand and adhere to union contracts if applicable
• Perform additional duties as assigned
