Job summary

Dow’s Polyurethanes Business Headquarters in Marietta, GA seeks an experienced Technical Service and Development Scientist to lead technical interactions with customers and translate needs into product solutions. You will collaborate across technical, commercial and manufacturing teams to support trials and scale-up from lab to production.

The role requires a bachelor’s in a related field, 6+ years of experience in rigid foam polyurethane products, and the ability to travel about 30%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or related field (plus military equivalence).
• Minimum 6 years’ relevant experience in rigid foam polyurethane products.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Designs value-creating solutions for customers with defined scope and impact.
• Develops hypotheses, plans and executes experiments, interprets results, and adjusts hypotheses.
• Provides technical support for trials and scale-up of Dow products at customer sites.
• Collaborates across research, commercial, supply chain and manufacturing.
• Generates ideas and data to support IP development and protect Dow’s IP.
• Engages with external professional organizations to stay current with tech and market trends.
• Communicates and documents work in internal reports and presentations.
