Job summary

Hood College in Frederick, MD, seeks a full-time, 12‑month director for the new PMHNP program in Nursing. The Program Director will oversee curriculum design, student recruitment, accreditation compliance, and teaching in PMHNP tracks within the DNP program, reporting to the Chair and Deans.

The role includes 20% time for research with a federal partner, potential external funding, and collaboration with the Graduate School for recruitment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in nursing education.
• Must have a PMHNP certification (AANP or ANCC) and an unencumbered RN license (Maryland).
• Demonstrated leadership experience in academic or clinical settings.
• Must have a terminal degree (PhD or DNP). If Ph.D. is in a related field, the candidate must have a master’s degree in nursing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee alignment with Hood College’s mission and objectives.
• Design, implement, and evaluate the PMHNP curriculum; foster accreditation readiness.
• Teach in PMHNP track and supervise graduate program related activities.
• Engage in research in collaboration with a federal partner or laboratory (20% of time).
• Support recruitment efforts and develop adjunct faculty as needed.
