Job summary

Hood College in Frederick, MD seeks a full-time, tenure-track or non-tenure track PMHNP Program Director to lead the new PMHNP track within the DNP program. The appointment begins Aug 1, 2027 and includes teaching, curriculum development, and program administration.

The successful candidate will have PMHNP certification, Maryland RN licensure, a terminal degree, and a record of leadership in nursing education.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of nursing education experience.
• Certification as PMHNP (AANP or ANCC) and an unencumbered RN license in Maryland.
• Terminal degree (PhD or DNP); if PhD, must have a master’s in nursing.
• Demonstrated leadership in academic or clinical settings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee PMHNP curriculum design, implementation, and evaluation.
• Lead program recruitment efforts and ensure accreditation standards.
• Develop and secure external funding for the graduate PMHNP program.
• Teach PMHNP courses and supervise graduate student work.
• Establish regional partnerships and assist with faculty appointments.
• Serve on Graduate Council and guide assessment plans.
