Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 7-10 years of experience in Information Technology.
• 5+ years of experience managing IT staff.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical issues to diverse audiences.
• Advanced knowledge of commercial and open-source IT hardware, software, and services.
• Proven ability to manage a matrixed workforce and collaborate across teams.
• Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to think long-term and apply new tech knowledge to improve services.
• Candidates must have a current security clearance and meet DoD 8140 requirements (Security+ at minimum).

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct IT-related activities across infrastructure, applications, networks, cloud services, virtualization, databases, backup and recovery, security, and compliance.
• Ensure continuity of computer, network, and application services through leadership, planning, and oversight.
• Align IT services with business processes and customer requirements while promoting best practices and continuous service improvement.
• Perform technical analysis, estimation, design review, architectural fit assessment, compliance evaluation, resource planning, milestone management, and quality oversight.
• Forecast costs and prepare budgets and budget performance reports for IT projects and operations.
• Recommend and implement hardware and software upgrades for business applications, servers, network equipment, laptops, and mobile devices.
• Design, develop, implement, and coordinate IT policies, procedures, and standards to strengthen service delivery and security.
• Audit systems, assess outcomes, and maintain backup and recovery readiness.
• Identify operational issues, diagnose root causes, and implement strategic improvements.
• Prepare long-range system plans and priority recommendations; oversee feasibility studies and validate implementation through monitoring and audits.
• Analyze complex business/user needs and propose technical solutions for consistency and quality across applications.
• Lead, mentor, and manage staff including recruiting, performance reviews, and policy enforcement.
