Job summary

BD is seeking a field-based Medical Science Liaison to advance the medical strategy for plastics and reconstructive surgery in the United States. You will engage KOLs, surgeons, payers, and other stakeholders, delivering scientifically robust programs and collaborations across medical, clinical, regulatory, and R&D teams.

Qualifications

• Advance scientific or clinical degree preferred (MD, DO, PhD, PharmD, NP, PA, RN).
• 3–5 years of either field-based MSL experience and/or clinical plastic surgery work experience.
• Plastic and reconstructive surgery experience is a must—industry or clinical background.
• Strong expertise in medical affairs, KOL engagement, and clinical/regulatory landscape for surgical innovation.
• Demonstrated record of effective cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Align on medical strategy and key objectives with cross-functional partners (medical, clinical, marketing, commercial, regulatory, R&D, market access).
• Identify, segment, and map stakeholders (KOLs, surgeons, HCPs, payers, patient groups, influencers).
• Gather and analyze data on stakeholder backgrounds and networks to prioritize engagement.
• Develop personalized engagement plans reflecting stakeholder needs and organizational goals in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
• Design and execute coordinated objectives for each audience segment with defined scientific outcomes.
• Deploy proactive and reactive engagement tactics (educational sessions, advisory boards, congress symposia, data inquiries).
• Use in-person or virtual KOL meetings, collaborative research, educational events, surgical congresses, and digital platforms.
• Collect and communicate insights to refine medical strategy and support leadership in plastics.
