Job summary

CSL in Michigan seeks a Plasma/Pheresis Technician to collect plasma from donors by venipuncture and monitor the pheresis process in accordance with SOPs and FDA guidelines. You will set up donors, monitor during collection, and disconnect as required.

You will evaluate vein performance, educate donors about the process and safety, and document donor data with a PDA while ensuring safety and efficiency. Strong safety and hygiene practices are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum twelve months experience in a medical or health care environment preferred.
• For Centers located in CA: Certified Phlebotomy Technician I or RN licensure may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture to begin pheresis process and monitor donor during pheresis.
• Set up donors, monitor during collection, and disconnect donors per SOPs.
• Evaluate vein performance and adjust as needed to expedite donation and ensure safety.
• Educate new donors about the process, screen tests, appointments, fees, and center policies.
• Monitor for donor reactions and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents and donor data using a PDA and manage equipment alarms or issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure supplies are available.
