Job summary

CSL is seeking a Plasma Donor Pheresis Technician to support efficient plasma collection by performing venipuncture, monitoring the pheresis process, and following SOPs. The role includes donor setup, monitoring, and disconnect, with adherence to FDA guidelines and documentation in the donor system.

You will educate donors about plasma products, monitor for adverse reactions, and assist with equipment alarms and maintenance. Strong attention to safety and donor experience is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum twelve (12) months experience in a medical or health care environment preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • For centers located in CA, additional qualifications may be required (certifications or RN license).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for efficient collection of plasma by performing venipuncture and monitoring the pheresis process per SOPs.
  • Perform all aspects of pheresis and plasma collection, including donor setup, monitoring and disconnect in SOPs.
  • Perform venipuncture to begin pheresis process in line with FDA guidelines.
  • Evaluate vein performance and make corrections to expedite donation and ensure safety and quality.
  • Educate donors on therapeutic products from donated plasma and answer questions.
  • Maintain alertness to donor reactions and assist staff as needed.
  • Record incidents using the PDA and manage equipment alarms or donor issues.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and document incidents; replace equipment when needed.
  • Monitor donor flow to ensure continuous turnover and promptly report issues.
