Job summary

CSL Plasma is seeking a Phlebotomist to efficiently collect plasma from donors through venipuncture and pheresis, while monitoring the process and adhering to SOPs. You will set up and monitor donor procedures and help ensure a positive donor experience.

Responsibilities include donor vein assessment, patient education on the donation process, accurate data recording, and safety compliance in a fast-paced environment. Prior phlebotomy and medical setting experience preferred.

Qualifications

• CSL Plasma DST training for internal applicants
• External candidates must have a minimum of 6 months' experience as a phlebotomist
• Minimum twelve (12) months of experience in a medical or health care environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture to begin the pheresis process and monitors donor during collection.
• Sets up donor, monitors the donor and disconnects after collection.
• Evaluates donor vein performance and makes adjustments to expedite donation and ensure safety.
• Educates donors on the donation process, screening tests, and center policies.
• Maintains awareness of donor reactions and assists or notifies staff as needed.
• Uses a PDA to document incidents during pheresis, alarms, and adverse events.
• Performs calibrations and verifies maintenance per SOPs; resolves complex issues.
• Troubleshoots equipment failures and documents incidents.
• Monitors donor flow to ensure turnover and communicates issues to leadership.
• Collects arm or whole blood samples for testing and records donor data accurately in the system.
• Follows HSE and OSHA policies and ensures safety in all actions.
• Maintains confidentiality of all donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required at organization's discretion
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
