Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a phlebotomy/plasma collection technician to join our donor center team. You will perform venipuncture and pheresis, monitor the process, set up donors, and follow SOPs to ensure safe, efficient plasma collection.

You will evaluate vein performance, educate donors on the process and safety, document incidents, and maintain accurate donor data in our information systems while adhering to FDA guidelines and OSHA policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum twelve (12) months experience in a medical or health care environment preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• For Centers located in CA, state certification as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician I, OR current Registered Nurse license.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and pheresis according to SOPs.
• Maintains donor setup, monitoring, and donor disconnect procedures.
• Evaluates donor vein performance and expedites donation while ensuring safety.
• Educates new donors on plasma products, screening tests, the appointment system, donation fees, policies, nutrition and related information.
• Records incidents and donor data using the electronic donor information management system.
• Monitors for donor reactions and notifies appropriate staff.
• Maintains clean, safe work environment and adheres to OSHA/HSE policies.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
