Job summary

Octapharma Plasma, Inc. is seeking dedicated staff to support donor care and plasma collection. The role covers compliance with FDA, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP standards, ensuring a safe, clean environment and high donor satisfaction.

Responsibilities include operating plasmapheresis equipment, handling plasma products, accurate record-keeping, and safeguarding donor confidentiality. Requires a high school diploma and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Three months’ experience in clerical or customer service preferred.
  • Certification or licensing based on State requirements.
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills required.
  • Ability to speak, read, write English required.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Ability to read, follow, and interpret regulations, instructions and manuals.
  • Ability to understand verbal instruction required.
  • Ability to read numbers on screening equipment and perform basic calculations

Responsibilities

  • Ensures total operation is compliant with state and federal regulations (FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, GMP) to maintain quality.
  • Maintains high level of customer service and donor experience in line with company values.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area and keeps supplies stocked to meet production demands.
  • Maintains Donor Center equipment per SOPs and manufacturer instructions.
  • Monitors donor conditions to ensure donor comfort, safety, and product quality.
  • Maintains donor confidentiality per policy.
  • Keeps complete and accurate records per SOPs.
  • Troubleshoots machine alarms and performs daily/monthly QC on equipment.
  • Cleans spills and disposes of biohazardous waste properly.
  • Performs other job-related tasks as assigned.
  • Ensures donor eligibility criteria are met per SOPs.
  • Performs finger stick for Microhematocrit and Total Protein.
  • Sets up and prepares equipment for venipuncture and plasmapheresis per SOPs.
  • Disconnects donor after plasmapheresis per SOPs.
  • Maintains proper donor-safety ratio and product quality.
  • Operates plasmapheresis machines and responds to alarms and adverse events; documents exceptions.
  • Prompt and sterile collection and storage of plasma product and samples per SOPs.
  • Handles tested and untested product; organizes samples in storage facilities.
  • Prepares product and samples for shipments per SOPs and regulations.
  • Monitors freezer/refrigerator temperatures and reports issues.

Education

High school diploma or GED
Certification or licensing as required by State
Basic computer knowledge
English language proficiency
Strong organizational skills
Ability to read and interpret regulations/instructions
Ability to follow verbal instructions
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
