Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services invites qualified healthcare professionals to join our team in Michigan as Medical Support Specialists. You will determine donor eligibility, review tests, manage donor safety, and support the center physician and EHS programs in a busy plasma donation setting.

You will work under Center Manager guidance and maintain compliance with regulatory standards while assisting with vaccination programs and emergency procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid state licenses as EMTs or nursing license(s) required.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience required.
• FDA training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist must be completed.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, education, self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance, physical exam, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and coordinate with Center Physician for emergencies.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical/technical issues including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for occupational health/ER evaluation with EHS guidance.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations related to pandemic threats.
