Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory results, and notify donors of unsuitable outcomes.

You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician, following SOPs and EHS guidance, ensuring donor safety, regulatory compliance, and high-quality patient care in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; nursing program graduate may be required by state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified as RN, NP, or PA in the practicing state.
• CPR and AED certification are current.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist completed.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, and medical history review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Review serological test results and notify donors of unsuitable results.
• Provide center-level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS) and coordinate with Center Physician for medical issues.
• Assist with donor safety, medical issues, and adherence to regulations as applicable.
