Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; nursing education as applicable.
• Current EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P licenses in the state.
• CPR and AED certifications current.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical exam, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations in the community.
