Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, review laboratory results, manage donor adverse events, and notify donors of unsuitable tests under the guidance of Center management and Center Physician.

Qualifications include state-licensed EMT/Paramedic or RN/LPN, CPR/AED, and at least two years in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• EMT/licensure + nursing licenses required by state where responsibilities are assigned.
• CPR/AED certification required to respond to medical events.
• Two years of clinical/hospital experience preferred.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements in plasma collection or manufacturing environments.
• FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist must be satisfactorily completed.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, and physical examination.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and liaise with occupational health/EHS as needed.
• Possible role as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.
