Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support donor center operations in Camp Hill, PA. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review lab results, and communicate unsuitable outcomes to donors.

Under the Center Manager and Center Physician guidance, you will ensure regulatory compliance and support EHS programs, applying nursing expertise and clinical experience in a plasma center environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with nursing program
• Licensed in the state as RN/NP/PA
• CPR and AED certification
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
• Complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and manage medical emergencies with physician standing orders and donor transport.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical/technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and follow EHS guidance; serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized.
• Report to Center Manager and work with Center Physician for operational and medical tasks.
