Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, part of Takeda, is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to ensure donor eligibility, monitor responses, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable tests. You will work under Center Manager and Center Physician guidance to support plasma center operations.

The role requires nursing or accredited medical credentials, CPR/AED, and experience in a clinical setting, with responsibilities spanning donor care, safety, and program compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; nursing program graduate with state requirements.
• Current EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, or EMT-P licensure; LPN/LVN or RN licensure.
• CPR and AED certification is current.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility: consent, medical history, physical exam, SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and manage emergencies per standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for issues requiring medical guidance.
• Support vaccination programs for Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu.
• Manage employee incidents per EHS guidance; participate in pandemic response as needed.
