Job summary

CSL in El Paso, TX seeks a donor center receptionist to greet donors and verify eligibility for plasma pheresis, guiding them through registration and screening. You will assist with health checks, document data, and answer donor questions while adhering to SOPs and safety policies.

The role supports education on plasma products, may involve cross-training in other areas, and requires a high school diploma with 3 months of clerical/customer service experience. Bilingual ability may be a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations

Responsibilities

• Greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting a series of registration procedures to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process.
• Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process in accordance with SOPs, including health history review and basic medical questions, and performing health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature.
• Perform finger stick to obtain hematocrit and total protein levels as part of donor screening.
• Educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma and explain screening, tests, appointment systems, center policies, nutrition, and other pertinent information.
• Register applicants and transfer donors as needed after appropriate training and operational needs.
• Answer phone calls and route inquiries to the appropriate staff.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify staff as needed.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Accurately record donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies for hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure supplies and forms are available; follow HSE/OSHA policies and promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required at the organization’s discretion.
