Job summary

Dow’s Emulsions/Polymers production facility in Knoxville, TN, seeks an Operations Performance Engineer to drive EH&S excellence, reliability, and cost efficiency. You will work across Operations, Maintenance, EH&S and other functions to optimize plant performance and deliver high-quality products.

The role offers exposure to a range of technical and leadership opportunities within a smaller site, emphasizing proactive problem-solving, data-driven decisions, and on-call support as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering by January 2027; Chemical or mechanical preferred.
• Military experience at or above US E5 or Canadian equivalent will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Previous experience in a chemical production facility is preferred.
• No visa sponsorship available for this US-based position.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with operations to apply problem-solving and technical expertise.
• Reference MET, assess process automation for plant performance.
• Diagnose asset utilization losses and document root causes.
• Maintain daily KPI/trends and review logbook to understand plant operation.
• Lead corrective and preventive actions during unplanned events.
• Support Raw Material Efficiency, including yield or waste optimization.
• Ensure compliance with operating permits and site integration.
