Job summary

Dow’s Emulsions/Polymers production site in Knoxville, TN seeks an Operations Performance Engineer to enhance plant value through EH&S excellence, reliability, and cost efficiency. You will work across Operations, Maintenance, and EH&S to optimize performance, address complex challenges, and ensure safe, reliable production of quality products.

The role emphasizes applying MET, data-driven decision making, and collaboration with SMEs to drive improvements across the plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering by January 2027; in lieu of a degree, relevant military experience at or above US E5 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the operations team leveraging problem-solving skills and technical expertise.
• Elevate and apply knowledge of the plant and technology referencing historical data and SMEs.
• Ensure MET is understood and utilized, and use process automation to optimize plant performance.
• Utilize MET and challenge MET application when better solutions arise.
• Partner with experts for advanced troubleshooting and to improve operating discipline.
• Diagnose and document root causes of asset utilization losses in the facility.
• Understand why procedure steps and precautions are needed and maintain strong field presence.
• Review daily logbook and alarm history to stay engaged with daily operations.
