Job summary

Dow Chemical in Knoxville, TN is seeking an Operations Performance Engineer to drive EH&S excellence, reliability, and cost efficiency across the Emulsions/Polymers production site.

You will partner with Operations, Maintenance, EH&S and Technology Centers to optimize plant performance, lead root-cause analyses, manage MET, and implement corrective actions while ensuring compliance with permits and safe operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required by January 2027.
• Experience in chemical production facilities preferred.
• Experience in coatings is preferred.
• U.S. work authorization required; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with operations team to apply problem-solving skills and technical expertise.
• Apply MET knowledge and ensure process automation supports plant performance.
• Lead troubleshooting and document operating discipline improvements.
• Diagnose root causes of asset utilization losses and implement fixes.
• Maintain daily KPI/trend reviews to monitor performance.
• Respond to plant issues and emergencies promptly.
• Provide leadership during unplanned events and drive corrective actions.
• Support raw material efficiency improvements and waste reduction.
