Job summary

Dow's Emulsions/Polymers production facility in Knoxville, TN has an opening for an Operations Performance Engineer. You will help the plant deliver maximum value through EH&S excellence, reliability, efficiency, and low cost to produce.

As a member of a smaller site you will work across technical and operational areas, partnering with Operations, Maintenance, EH&S, and other functions to optimize performance, resolve complex challenges, and enable safe, reliable production of quality products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering by January 2027 (chemical or mechanical preferred).
• Military experience at or above U.S. E5 or Canadian PO 2nd Class or Sergeant will be considered in lieu of degree.
• U.S. work authorization; no visa sponsorship available.
• Previous experience in chemical production or coatings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with operations to leverage problem-solving skills and technical expertise.
• Apply MET and ensure process automation is used to optimize plant performance.
• Troubleshoot, document root causes of asset utilization losses, and drive corrective actions.
• Review daily KPI trends and maintain field presence to reinforce operating discipline.
• Provide leadership in Raw Material Efficiency, yield, or waste reduction where applicable.
• Support on-call rotation and respond to plant issues or emergencies.
