Job summary

Smithfield Fresh Meats Corp is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance technicians across plant operations, ensuring reliable equipment, uptime, and safety. You will direct predictive and preventive maintenance, coordinate with Production, and drive TPM and SOP implementations.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 2+ years of leadership experience, strong problem‑solving and communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Experience acting as a lead by training, coaching, or mentoring staff.
• Ability to lead problem solving and troubleshooting for high‑level process issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• May be required to work long hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Supervision: Lead maintenance mechanics and electricians in predictive and preventive maintenance, and train staff on methods and safety.
• Maintenance Planning & Scheduling: Schedule maintenance in collaboration with Production; implement TPM, SOPs, Safety.
• Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Develop KPIs for maintenance performance and provide status reports to management.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure tasks comply with USDA regulations; maintain maintenance records and inventory.
• Crisis Management & Continuity: Assume responsibilities during absence of key personnel.
• People Management: Lead, develop, and coach team to improve performance.
