Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance teams across plant, facilities, utilities, and powerhouse. You will drive preventive maintenance, supervise work, and ensure equipment reliability to keep production lines at peak performance.

Responsibilities include planning with Production, implementing TPM/SOPs, and maintaining compliance with USDA rules. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
• Experience leading staff or projects and coaching others.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; long hours and weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams of Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians in predictive and preventive maintenance, as well as machine repairs.
• Train employees on proper work methods and safety procedures.
• Supervise maintenance systems, processes, and documentation for high performance.
• Coordinate maintenance planning with Production for timely repairs; develop TPM, SOPs and safety programs.
• Develop and monitor KPIs; provide regular status reports to maintenance management.
• Ensure compliance with USDA regulations and maintain accurate maintenance records.
