Job summary

CM Biomass is seeking an HR Generalist in Houston to own payroll processing and day-to-day employee relations across U.S. manufacturing sites. You will be the primary contact for site-based employees, processing payroll accurately and supporting plant staff on the ground.

This role partners with Corporate HR to cover all HR functions, implement policies, manage leaves, onboarding, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Domestic travel up to 50% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Admin, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of HR and payroll experience in multi-site or manufacturing environments.
• Strong payroll processing experience (weekly and monthly).
• Knowledge of employment laws and wage & hour regulations.
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly and monthly payroll across all U.S. sites.
• Serve as primary HR contact for site employees and relations matters.
• Administer leaves of absence and coordinate related pay.
• Manage wage garnishments, unemployment claims, and payroll compliance.
• Maintain time and attendance records for hourly site staff.
• Support onboarding and new hire orientation for site employees.
• Maintain confidential HRIS records for site personnel.
• Assist benefits enrollment and administration for site staff.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws at site level.
• Travel to Pellet Mill sites up to 50% to provide HR/payroll support.
• Partner with Corporate HR to implement policies and programs.
